A lot of buyers ask us if a home inspection is necessary when they are purchasing a home. They don’t always understand why they would need one if the home appears to be in perfect working order. We highly recommend home inspections on any property you plan to buy.
The truth is, you never know what problems may be lurking underneath the surface until you have a professional come out and take a look. One important inspection you should have is a roof inspection. We get a lot of hail and high winds around here, so you want to have a good, durable roof. You will also want the inspector to make sure the roof was installed properly.
For big-ticket items like septic tanks, heating/AC systems, plumbing, and electric, you will want to have a general home inspection done. Another additional inspection to consider is a radon gas inspection. Radon is colorless, odorless, and deadly. Making sure your home is safe provides a lot of peace of mind.
Remember, the reason you’re getting the inspection is to uncover problems with large-ticket items that might cause you to not move forward with the transaction. Home inspections are a big deal, and we highly recommend them.
